What is OTPDrop?

OTPDrop is a virtual phone number service. You rent a number long enough to receive a verification code — either once, or for 7 to 90 days if the account will ask you to confirm the number again later. It covers 133 services across 197 countries.

Why is there no KYC?

Because a verification service does not need to know who you are, and every field it collects is a field that can leak. An OTPDrop account is a seed phrase generated in your browser: there is no email address, no password and no identity document at any stage. The absence is structural rather than a setting — there is no column in the database for your name, so there is nothing to hand over when someone asks.

Why cryptocurrency only?

A card carries your name, your bank and usually your address. Buying an anonymous number with one identifies you anyway, which makes the payment the leak rather than the number. Accepting only cryptocurrency keeps that gap closed. It also means OTPDrop never handles card data, which is one fewer thing to breach.

How does OTPDrop work?

You fund a balance once, then buy numbers against it. Each purchase debits the balance and issues a number in the same request — there is no per-purchase invoice and no waiting for a second confirmation. If a code never arrives, the price returns to the balance automatically.

Why is it built for AI agents?

Because the barriers a person tolerates are the ones an agent cannot pass at all: a signup form, an identity check, a payment card. Removing them for privacy reasons happens to remove them for software too. OTPDrop publishes an MCP server, a REST API and machine-readable discovery files, so an agent can open an account, fund it and buy a number without a human in the loop.

Who runs OTPDrop?

A small independent operation, not a company with a sales team. That has consequences worth stating: support runs through tickets rather than a phone line, and OTPDrop is newer than most of the services it competes with.
